Salam and a warm greeting to all of you!
I am thrilled to share my latest teaching materials that focus on enhancing students’ speaking skills. The materials comprise a Conversation Practice record book and a Suggested List of conversation practices (more than 130 conversations). This list serves as a quick reference for teachers and provides them with ideas on the types of conversation practices they can include in the record book. The list is curated based on the Years 4,5 and 6 syllabus, so rest assured that these materials are relevant and aligned with the current curriculum. However, you can also add your own conversation practices to make it even more tailored to your students’ needs.
The record book serves as tangible evidence to support the performance level (tahap penguasaan) given to students through classroom-based assessment (penilaian berasaskan bilik darjah-PBD) . Teachers can assign conversation practices that students must memorise and write them in the record book. The students are required to provide meanings or translations of these conversations to aid them in understanding the context. Once students have memorised and understood the conversation practices, they can seek evaluation and assessment from their teachers.
By using this record book, students can monitor their progress and see how far they have come in their speaking skills. Teachers can also use it to track students’ improvement and provide constructive feedback for further growth. I believe that this resource will help students become more confident and proficient in their speaking abilities.
Do inform me if you notice any errors in the materials.
